Korean Grammar Lesson 3. -에, -습니다/니다, -(으)세요

A : 어서오세요.
B : 이 맥주 얼마예요?
A : 한 개에 2000원이에요.
B : 그럼 맥주 네 개 주세요.
A : 모두 10,000원입니다.
B : 감사합니다.
A : 이 우유는 얼마예요?
B : 한 개에 700원이에요.

1. -에
'-에' is attached to a counting unit (두 개, 네 병) and descries the unit of measurement.
For example, '이 천원에' means two thousand won is the unit of measurement,
and '네 병에' means four bottles.
Example)
맥주 네병에 만원 입니다.
: Ten thousand won for four bottles of beer.

2. -습니다/ㅂ니다
'-습니다/ㅂ니다' is the formal polite form sentence ending of present tense.
'-습니다' is attached to the verb or adjective stem ending in a consonant.
'-ㅂ니다' is attached to the stem ending in a vowel.
Example)
저는 자동차회사에서 일합니다.
: I work for automaker
아침으로 주스를 먹습니다.
: I drink a juice for breakfast.

3. -(으)세요
'-(으)세요' is used when making a request or giving a command.
'-으세요' is attached to the verb stem ending in a consonant.
'-세요' is attached to the verb stem ending in a vowel.
Example)
여기 앉으세요.
: Please have a seat.
잠시 기다려 주세요.
: Wait a monent,please.
